Life Group Leaders

Our life groups are led by great individuals who have a passion for in-home groups. Each group is unique in that the leaders choose the study and format of the group. Some groups prefer intense Bible study while others incorporate more fellowship and devotional times into their groups.

Independence, MO Life Group Leaders

The Avenue Church has several small groups who meet in the Independence area.

Jeff & Lindsay Class

The Class life group is led by Jeff & Lindsay Class. This life group meets on Sunday nights in Independence, off Gudgell and 291 North. Jeff & Lindsay Class have been married for 5 years and love spending time with their dog, Presley. Jeff’s The Avenue’s worship leader and Lindsay works at the Kansas City Zoo. The Classes enjoy opening their home and leading their life group each week.

Danny & Ashley Burns

The Burns life group is led by Danny & Ashley Burns. This life group meets Wednesday nightsin Independence, off 39th Street, near Cargo Largo. Danny & Ashley have been married 5 years and have a new baby boy, Malachi and a fun Border Collie, Tweak! Danny manages the online ministry for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Ashley’s recently transitioned to stay at home with the new baby! They’ve hosted a life group for 2 years and enjoy opening their home to several of our Avenue families!

Mike & Danielle Burgess

Mike & Danielle lead a life group on Sunday nightsin Lee’s Summit, near the downtown area. Mike & Danielle have been married 6 years and have a baby girl named Mae, and two dogs, Joey and Lindley. Mike works in CSS website programming and Danielle works for The Avenue and runs her own copywriting business. The Burgesses have been leading a life group for almost 5 years and enjoy the close relationships that are formed through life group.

Jerry & Kady Mason

Jerry & Kady Mason lead a life group on Sunday nights in Lee’s Summit. They live off Longview Road near the south-side of town between Ward Road and Longview Farms. Jerry & Kady have been married 5 years and have two boys; Noah and Levi. Jerry works with autistic children in a Kansas City private school, and Kady helps lead Mom-tourage and Mission: Ignition at The Avenue. The Masons enjoy hosting a family-style group where friends of all ages come together for discussion.

Blue Springs, MO Life Group Leaders

The Avenue has a this great group meeting in Blue Springs on Tuesdays.

Orion & Amy Berridge

Orion and Amy Berridge lead a life group in south Blue Springs, near Hwy 7 and Moreland School Road. The Berridges have two kids; Riley Grace their 7 year old daughter and Luke who is 4 years old. Orion is our Pastor at The Avenue and Amy is an Events Coordinator for Crown Center, they despite the demands of ministry they believe that reorienting our lives around community is essential to a healthy church and healthy disciples. The Berridges have been married for 12 years and enjoy leading a life group full of different generations of Avenue families.
