As a regional church, The Avenue has a unique opportunity to impact many cities within the Kansas City metro area for Christ. One way to take advantage of our unique location is through House Worship.
Meeting for House Church
A few times each year, we worship uniquely on Sunday mornings through House Worship. Instead of meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn, several members from The Avenue open up their homes, and we meet in one another’s houses instead. Because we come from all over the Kansas City Metro Area, House Worship introduces our neighbors to one another. We encourage our families to attend a House Worship location in their own community, or suburb.
What is House Church Like?
House Worship involves brunch, a short video lesson and discussion among a small group. It serves as a way to introduce church members to one another, as well as a great, non-intimidating way to invite friends to The Avenue who might not feel comfortable at Sunday’s worship service. Because the small group gathers in someone’s home, House Worship is a springboard for taking the Gospel message outside of the church “walls” and into our cities.
By hosting House Worship a few times each year, our view of worship is expanded. Not only can we worship Jesus on Sunday mornings through a non-traditional worship setting, but we can also worship him where we live on a daily basis. House Worship opens our eyes to missional living, and the impact we can make on each of our cities.
