Life at The Avenue begins and ends with our life groups. These small, in-home community groups meet each week and provide the best way to get involved at The Avenue. Life groups provide support and friendship for those at The Avenue Church. They also serve as a place for people to meet needs, pray, and grow in the Christian faith with one another.

What makes a life group unique from any other group of friends is Biblical community. Not only are individuals meeting for friendship at a life group, but they’re also meeting to study God’s word, pray for one another and go on mission together. This type of community on mission uniquely bonds group members to one another in close, tight-knit relationships that become family-like. Group members live life together and provide support and accountability. The community formed from our life groups at The Avenue is one of our biggest blessings.
Life Group Leaders at The Avenue Church
Our life group leaders are men & women who feel called to serve and shepherd at The Avenue Church. The Avenue’s life group leaders serve as church deacons, meaning that they pray, disciple, encourage and provide care for their group members. Leaders intentionally plan and coordinate different parts of community as well as choose study material for their group. Additionally leaders guide discussion and prayer at Life Group gatherings.

Life Groups at The Avenue are located in several cities throughout Eastern Jackson County. A diverse mix of individuals and families from various ages and life stages make up our groups. Children are welcome; each life group has a unique plan for childcare.
