Here’s a glimpse into life at The Avenue – both on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.
Sundays at The Avenue Church
Typically, we meet at the Hilton Garden Inn in Independence, MO (off I-70).
10:45 am on Sundays
Look for the large signs that will lead the way to find us!
Wear casual attire, that’s what we’ll be in.
Occasionally we meet in other locations on Sunday mornings. Always check our website for all of the info you need to know about how/where to find us each weekend.
Kids & Students Sunday Morning Programs
We host Avenue Kids Connected at 9:30 a.m. for children ages birth – 5th grade and The CrossWalk for students grades 6-12. These classes are taught by consistent teachers who pour into the kids and students through games, songs, and Bible lessons created for their individual age groups.
During the 10:45 am service, we have a secure nursery for babies through kiddos in preschool. (Students in grades K – 12 join adults in service and have a separate children’s bulletin during the service.)
Music & Atmosphere on Sundays
We have weeks of acoustic sets mixed with weeks of where we’ve got electrics and bass making up a full worship band sound at The Avenue. We sing old songs, new songs, and original songs. Think of our music like a sampler platter, a bit of everything all at one place. We have a high view of God and scripture. We believe in teaching the bible as truth and doing it in a way that impacts our everyday lives. Each week we have a prayer team available at the end of each service and opportunities to plug into a life group.
Throughout the Week at The Avenue
Throughout the week, Avenuers meet in life groups. We have life groups that meet on almost each night of the week in homes all cross the Kansas City metro area. We also have several community groups and interest groups that meet on weekdays. During Mission: Ignition weeks, we’re also gathering together for prayer and service throughout the week.
From care opportunities, service opportunities and friendships that stem from Biblical community, Avenuers are always connecting with one another throughout the week.
Who Goes to The Avenue?
The Avenue is an intergenerational group with people of all ages. This creates a fun mix when several twenty-somethings are getting secret recipes from older moms, or the thirties and forties are finding comfort in one another as they realize they had their kids around the same time. We have people coming from all kinds of lifestyles and walks life such as: young professionals; college students; newlyweds; new parents; new grandparents; empty-nesters; thirty-somethings; tattoo enthusiasts; retirees; home schoolers; school teachers; high schoolers; artists; tons of kids; and many, many more!
We’re a big mix of people who all live in the Eastern Jackson County, MO area. We love Jesus and are carrying his message out to the people around us.
